Relocation and Co-location brings record visitor numbers for the Guardian and the CIWM

Relocation and Co-location brings record visitor numbers for the Guardian and the CIWM Guardian News and Media's Procurement Exhibition Portfolio which comprises, The Public Procurement Show, Smart Healthcare Live and Smart Gov Live experienced a massive 90% increase in visitor numbers after it relocated from Earl's Court to ExCeL London. The Shows were co-located for the first time with Futuresource run by the Chartered Institute of Waste Management (CIWM), which itself saw an increase of 10% on visitor numbers from the year before.

Geoff Soppet, Head of Exhibitions, Guardian News and Media said "This year saw us attract our highest ever visitor attendance in over 20 years of organising these events in one shape or other. The last twelve months have been quite a story, moving to ExCeL really delivered for us and I would highly recommend the venue to other organisers of public sector focussed events".

Sarah Poulter, Managing Director, CIWM said "Futuresource relocated to ExCeL London in 2009 and was phenomenally successful, we were delighted to be located alongside the Guardian in 2010, together we managed to achieve record visitor numbers which left our exhibitors delighted".

Jeremy Rees, Sales Director, ExCeL London said "Due to the unique design of ExCeL London we are not only able to co-locate many events simultaneously, we are also able to ensure that visitors can flow easily between shows with similar profiles. I am delighted that organisers are starting to recognise the benefits of relocating their events next to others in the same market sector to benefit from cross promotional activity. Guardian News and Media and the CIWM have shown the industry how effective this collaborative approach can be".
