- Visitor numbers - 3,292 visitors
Naidex South launched in September 2010 to compliment the long established Naidex event held in Birmingham. Naidex South was created by Emap to better serve their customers in the south east of England. Like Naidex, Naidex South is an event for the Homecare Industry and attracts visitors as diverse as Occupational Therapists, Carers, Equipment dealers and members of the public with disabilities and their family members.
Naidex South attracted over 150 exhibitors, occupying over 2,300m2 of floor space and was attended by 3,292 visitors in its first year. Naidex South has been credited by Emap as being their first profitable launch event in over 20 years.
- Overview
In addition to the 150 stands Naidex South contained eight feature areas and two main demonstration and learning areas:
- The Lifestyle Theatre, for members of the public to see demonstrations from organisations such as the Wheelchair Football Association, The London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games and the Canine Partners.
- The Professional CPD Seminar Theatre, enabling Healthcare Professionals to learn new techniques and to earn valuable CPD Points.
- Open Days
Wednesday 29th September 10.00 - 17.00
Thursday 30th September
10.00 - 16.00
One of the key decisions to launch Naidex South at ExCeL London was the excellent facilities on offer for visitors with disabilities. With all the facilities on a single level the visitors easily moved around the venue. ExCeL London's 3,700 onsite parking spaces also created easy access for visitors who were unable to access public transport.
Based on a visitor survey conducted after the show, 80% of visitors using wheelchairs thought ExCeL was easily accessible.
- The Future
Following its highly successful launch, Naidex South will return to ExCeL London on 19th & 20th October 2011, the show is forecast to grow by 1000 metres and visitor numbers are expected to also increase.
